Band Application Process
For the 2015 Rose Parade

Marching in the Rose Parade is a remarkable experience, to be remembered and treasured for a lifetime. In addition to the Rose Parade, participating bands are also involved in other year-end activities and events in and around Pasadena, including performances of their exciting field shows at our Bandfest.

We are currently accepting band applications, from interested band directors, for the Rose Parade to be held on January 1, 2015. All application and supplemental material submissions must be completed and received by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association by no later than May 31, 2013.

Decisions will be announced in the Fall of 2013, to give the selected bands sufficient time for fund raising activities. There are no band entry fees, but bands must finance their transportation, accommodations and all other expenses. Submitting an application does not mean a band has been or will be invited to march in the Rose Parade.

Bands are selected based on a variety of criteria, including musicianship, marching ability, uniqueness and entertainment value. In addition, we also seek bands with the ability to perform field show-type maneuvers while continuing to march. There is no set size requirement. Other than a few time-honored annual participants, bands are eligible to march in the Rose Parade once every four years. (However, this does not prohibit bands from reapplying in successive years if they were not invited to participate in a given year.)

If you are a band director who would like to apply to march in our 2015 Rose Parade, please provide the information requested below. Once you submit a completed intention to apply, additional application materials and instructions will be e-mailed to you at the band director e-mail address submitted below.

Please note that the application process is extensive. Bands typically invest a significant amount of time assembling the components of their applications. So, early request of the application materials is advised.
